Eric Cantor: the VP choice McCain will announce this week

Novak is saying McCain will announce his VP choice this week to steal the headlines from Obama’s world tour. Might be true. If he does, the announcement of Eric Cantor as his pick will come as a shock to most in the media.

Eric Cantor?

Even though McCain is meeting with Jindal later this week? Yup.

Even though Mitt is spending a ton to spread the word that he’s at the top of the list? Yup.

My sources say Cantor was picked a long time ago, and it’s easy to understand why. Although he is white, he is the only Jewish Republican in the House. He’s young–45–and a fresh face. He has Romney’s good looks. As a Representative of Virginia’s 7th District since 2001, he’s served as the Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare and also sat on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House International Relations Committee. Since his second term, he’s served as chief deputy Republican whip, which is the highest appointed position in the Republican caucus. He’s also popular in the Richmond area–in four elections, he’s never received less than 64% of the vote. Also, conservatives should love him, with his 96.86 lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union.

You heard it here first.

Cantor is a rock start, VA patriot, you may have to step up and give this guy to the nation. I met him at a fundraiser for my Congressman and Cantor lit up the room. He has energy, enthusiasm and you know what—he isnt afraid to be conservative. I know we arent suppose to talk about Reagan because that means you are stuck in the past, but this guy is the closest thing to Reagan that I’ve seen in a while. Young, articulate, energetic and focused. He laid out a program he started called Young Leaders, it was amazing. This guy is ahead of the curve in so many ways, online etc. I think McCain would be crazy not to look seriously at him. The others are boring. Why hasnt he gotten more attention???
